Cross Connections

The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality is responsible for establishing the rules, regulations and operating procedures necessary to ensure the safety of our drinking water. The Township must follow and implement those same rules and regulations. A system of inspection for all Cross Connections is required and plays a large roll in keeping our water safe.

The Township has inspected the majority of the commercial Cross Connections.  This week we sent out letters regarding residential connections. This has prompted many questions from community members.  We have established a page on our website to help provide information on the DEQ's requirements and why these measures are necessary to protect the public drinking water supply.
