Appealing Your Board of Review Decision

The Board of Review has concluded and rendered its decisions. In the next few weeks those decisions will be mailed to taxpayers that appealed their taxes to the Board of Review. If you are satisfied with their decision, you will need to take no additional steps.

If you would like to take the next step in the appeal process, you will need to file with Michigan State Tax Tribunal. Residential property owners must have appeared before the Board of review to appeal their taxes to the tribunal. Other property owners may appeal directly to the tribunal. Keep in mind the following cut off dates for filing:

July 31 - Residential Property
May 31 - Other property tax payers
